Sekine caught a brief glimpse of Aratona bounding into the tree then turned his attention to his new den. It was about three feet wide, two feet deep, and 1 foot high, the perfect size for a single cat. He began clawing out heaps of leaves one pawful at a time. When he had finished that task he looked around again. The walls were thick with stones and dirt shone through in only a few places. He was going to need some moss to make it more comfortable. "Hey Aratona, do you know where I can find lots of moss?" He called up the tree to her.

Sekine nodded. "Thanks." He began to pad off but he tripped over a root and landed face down. He quickly got up and shook his fur our embarasment flooding through him. He raced off hoping that Aratona hadn't caught that. Finally he reached the stream. There was tons of moss along the sides and he clawed some off untill he had enough to cover his den then he began to trot back with the moss in his jaws.

Aratona was about to go check on him until she saw he was fine. She watched him bound off then crawled into her own den. The branches where thickly woven together and made for an excellent shelter. In the middle Moss grew thickly making a comfortable nest. She curled up inside closing her eyes but not letting herself sleep.

Sekine padded back into the clearing. Glancing around he saw that Aratona was no where to be seen but her scent was still in the air signifying she was around. Sekine padded into his own den and placed the moss around the floor then he curled up in the soft moss. He watched the sun sink for a moment before closing his eyes and letting sleep over take him.

Aratona padded out into the moonlight and l ifted her nose to the air. She noticed Sekine in his den and padded to the outside. She reached her head inside and touched her nose to his ear before padding out to hunt. Parting her jaws she saw a bird nesting in the branches. She silently clawed her way up the other side of the trunk untill she reached the branch above the nest. Letting herself drop she neatly nipped the birds spine as it tried to fly away. Aratona quickly caught 2 mice and a squirrel. She left the squirrel and a mouse in Sekines bed then padded to her nest and ate her catch. Curling up and closing her eyes she let sleep overtake her.

The next morning Sekine woke up and noticed a squirrel and a mouse. He sniffed at them and scented Aratona. Assuming she hunted them for him he smiled and began eating. After he was done he stretched and climbed to the top of a tree to look out for food and Aratona.

Aratona blinked o pen her eyes to see the sun slanting through the interweaving branches of the bush. The young cat stood up and arched her back in a luxurious stretch. She padded out to see Sekine at the top of a tree. Waving her tail in greeting she padded off into the undergrowth in search of more food. She quickly caught a shrew, vole, and a mouse then headed back to the clearing laden with fresh-kill.

Sekine waved back then he noticed a bird in the next branch over. Silently he crept over to it then pounced killing it with a neat bite to the neck. Soon he caught a fat pigeon and a squirrel. He climbed down the trees just in time to see Aratona padded in. "Hi Aratona, wanna eat together?" He asked her putting his catch down.

Aratona put her own catch down and smiled at him"I'd like that" She took her fresh-kill over to a nice shaded spot. Tucking her paws neatly underneath herself she began to eat her shrew.
